Ride-hailing apps are the easiest way to travel around Colombo. PickMe is the local service and has the widest coverage in the city; Uber also operates in Colombo. Both let you book tuk-tuks, cars, vans or motorbikes, show the estimated fare before you confirm, and accept cash or in-app payment.
Tuk-tuks can also be flagged down on the street. Ask for the meter, or agree the fare, before setting off.
